History of MV
"Why in the world would you want to start another church in Anniston, Alabama?" In a land full of "churches," this was a question we heard often in the launch days of MV. The answer to that question is being lived out in the hundreds of lives that have been changed since our inception on August 2, 2009.
What started out as a prompting of the Holy Spirit, turned into prayer and eventually a series of interest meetings, that led to a core team of 40 people gathering together weekly to worship. This incredible movement of the Holy Spirit ultimately birthed a church ,and we gathered for our first service on Sunday, August 2, 2009. God began the process of uniting a group of people who believe that transformation happens not only within the walls of the church but outside them as well.
MV began and has remained faithful to a simple purpose to be a place of worship, a place of life change, and a place of ministry for Northeast Alabamians who desire to passionately pursue the call of Christ in their lives. The fulfillment of this simple purpose is reflected in our commitment to the MV68 vision (do JUSTICE, love MERCY, walk HUMBLY. Micah 6:8). We believe the greater days of this vision are yet to be discovered as we seek after God's redemptive plan for this region.
